Swazi business woman of the year gives parental advice
Sylvia Mthethwa the Swazi business woman of the year for 2006 has offered her wisdom to those of us looking to produce the Sol Kerzners, Richard Bransons or Sylvia Mthethwa's of future generations. With many of us thinking that the kids of today just have it to easy and are not prepared to start at the bottom, this firm message may be just the affirmation we have been looking for.

SWAZILAND businesswoman of the year 2006 [Entrepreneur category] Sylvia Mthethwa has advised parents not to spoil their children by giving them a lot of money and luxurious cellphones.
Mthethwa was speaking at the Greater Alpha Restaurant in Manzini during the awarding ceremony of 66 consultants of Buhle Buhle, a South Africa based company which sells pots, dishes and cutlery.
The company has 200 members in the country and is headed by Sisana Dlamini who recently won a trip to the United Arab Emirates and Wild Coast together with three other consultants.
The four who won the trip had sold goods to the amount of E20 000 each. Mthethwa said one could not empower people by spoiling them. She said splashing money and expensive gifts to children did not empower them, instead they tend to relax and expect to be given everything.
“I would rather give a person money to go and buy items so that they can sell and earn some profit rather than money to go and spoil themselves because the minute they finish spending then they are going to expect more. I encourage women to be independent,â€
